This study examines the correlation between remote work adoption and employee retention rates across technology startups. Data collected from 1,200 firms indicates a 23% reduction in voluntary turnover when flexible scheduling is implemented. These findings underscore the crucial role of organizational flexibility in fostering sustainable workforce engagement, and contribute valuable insights to the broader literature on human capital management.
The abstract is where it shows
An abstract is compressed, which means the tells compress with it. A 150-word abstract cannot hide a metronomic rhythm, because there is no room to vary. A manuscript submitted to a good journal passes through readers who have each sat on a committee, and several of those readers have a classifier running underneath the reading, which means the prose has to survive a human and a statistician in the same pass, and the shape the model gives it is the one that fails the second without ever irritating the first. The classifier a reviewer runs reads exactly that: sentence lengths in a narrow band, a thesis announced, a summary that restates the thesis.
What the rewrite will not do
It will not change what your results are. A number, a comparison, a limit of
the study all survive. What changes is the scaffolding around them, the
crucial role and the valuable insights, which say nothing and cost you
the reviewer's patience. The harshest margins come from reviewers who have
read a hundred abstracts that week, and the ones they remember are the ones
worth rereading.
